These comments were received from Mike Wieland: On April 24th, a building that had been in the Rubin family for 50 years, was destroyed by fire, and it really hit Jerry hard.
In addition to Jerry's emotional attachment, the building had significant historical value, having once housed the law office of John Wesley Hardin. Thought everybody would want to see how he handled the situation. We know what a generous guy Jerry is, as we, through our reunion, certainly were the beneficiaries of his generosity. Here's proof once again, that he is a class act.

El Paso High's legendary, mysterious tunnels.
Whether or not you graduated from El Paso High School, chances are you've heard about its tunnels. Some say they were built as a fallout shelter; others say they were used as an access route to classrooms and the football field; and then there are rumors that indicate the tunnels were once used as a hospital during World War I or World War II.

It is with deep regret that I forward the news that Kenny Smith passed away on 10/26/2011 in Poulso, Washington.
He was my true best friend and a very good person as many of us know.

The following, I feel, demonstrates what we all will be doing this reunion.
The April 2011 Issue of HARPER'S had a review by Lewis H. Lapham of Mark Twain's newly published autobiography entiled "Democracy 101". Lapham notes, on page 34 of the magazine, a meeting Clemens had with a former schoolmate from Hannibal Missouri and I quote.
" '...or discover him in Calcutta in 1896 in the company of Mary Wilson, "old and gray-haired, but...very handsome," a woman whom he had much admired in her prior incarnation as a young woman in 1849 in Hannibal, Missouri:
We sat down and talked. We steeped our thirsty souls in the reviving wine of the past, the pathetic past, the beautiful past, the dear and lamented past; we uttered the names that had been silent upon our lips for fifty years, and it was as if they were made of music; with reverent hands we unburied our dead, the mates of our youth, and caressed them with our speech; we searched the dusty chambers of our memories and dragged forth incident after incident, episode after episode, folly after folly, and laughed such good laughs over them, with the tears running down ... ' "
Is this not the best description of meeting of with an aquaintance?

Looking at the year book pictures,at one time we were all young. Now most of us are pushing late 60s -early 70s time flyes. May God bless and keep all safe.
